NOTES: Catalogued 10/95, DZ. Edition number, 19/30, from acquisition documents. "A professor of art at Massachusetts College of Art, Morell is recognized for a series of photographs produced in the early 1990s that combine a camera view with that of the camera obscura.... Here the inverted image of houses outside Morell's bedroom is cast on the interior bedroom wall. In this image, the public space of the street contrasts with a private sanctuary of the bedroom. Morell is a contemporary photographer whose work suggests how the camera, from its beginning in the 14th century to today, is the world's most powerful and persuasive tool of information and memory."
